Aston Kalmari is a rock band from Lappeenranta known for its fiery live energy and insightful Finnish-language lyrics. The band offers listeners empowering points of identification with issues that are not usually easy to talk about openly, such as mental health challenges, relationship problems and loneliness. Aston Kalmari’s music combines uplifting punk anthems with heavier rock songs dealing with more serious subjects.

Actively performing live, the lineup has released two studio albums and two EPs to date. The band’s best-known songs include Älä rakastu minuun, Ajan virta and Takaisin pintaan.

Aston Kalmari will release a single called Polkupyörä on Friday, 28 August 2026. According to the band, the song’s double entendres, aimed at an adult audience, are enough to make even the most rigid listener’s ears turn red. Polkupyörä is the final single release from Aston Kalmari’s third album before the album comes out. The album Mun sydän hakkaa mut, released on 18 September 2026, revolves around strong emotions – shy infatuation, burning love, blazing passion and overwhelming friendship.
